The Sox' number two starter had a rough first start but has since become a rock in an otherwise inconsistent starting rotation.
In that first start against Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers, Beckett was taken deep five times, allowing 7 runs total in 4 2/3 innings. Since that start he's allowed 3 runs or less and gone atleast 6 innings in each of his three starts.
With Jon Lester struggling to find consistency and Clay Buchholz still getting knocked around in his starts, the Red Sox have leaned heavily on Beckett to win ball games and he's came through.
The Sox will take on Gavin Floyd, who started the season with a shaky start as well (5ER in 5 2/3IP) but has since been solid, lowering his ERA to a respectable 3.60.
With two solid starters on the mound, there's a good chance the Red Sox will need to replicate last nights performance from their--recently solid--bullpen. Visit the site after the game for full recap's and updates on any news in Red Sox Nation.
