Cue the cracks at the Red Sox for trading Kevin Youkilis. After sitting in Monday nights game with a hamstring injury, there's a possibility that Will Middlebrooks could find himself on the disabled list.

After the game last night against the A's, Bobby Valentine was unable to give a definitive timeline on a return, but he did say a roster move was possible if it was going to be "some days", according to WEEI.com.

"The latest on Will is that he feels better today than he did yesterday and better than he expected to be today. That’s the only news we have. That’s good. It’s not discolored, and that’s good. But it’s going to be some days," Valentine told reporters. "We won’t let the calendar dictate [his return]. We’ll just see how he feels. Maybe DL, maybe a few days, it's just one of those injuries. I think we’ve had them before.”-Except via WEEI.com

Right now, the Red Sox are playing with 13 pitchers and just three players on the bench, including Middlebrooks. With the rookie unable to play, it becomes a tight scenario with just two extra players able to play.

The versatility of newly acquired utility player, Brent Lillibridge, makes it easier, but it's nowhere near a perfect scenario. If Middlebrooks need more than a couple games, a stint on the DL would be the most sensible option.

With roster moves likely already coming in the wake of Dice-K's injury, we should know sooner than later where the situation is going.
